About us
Who We Are
Our mission is to honor the gift of life through education, outreach, and support for families in our South Texas community touched by organ donation.
Vida Legacy Foundation (VLF) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA). Formerly known as the TOSA Foundation, VLF operates as a separate entity dedicated to supporting education, outreach, and assistance programs that benefit individuals and families impacted by organ donation and transplantation.
Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA) and Vida Legacy Foundation work hand-in-hand, but each serves a distinct purpose. Established by TOSA in 2025, Vida Legacy Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to extend the impact of organ donation into the community, funding education, outreach, and support programs that support donor families, recipient families, and the communities they call home across Central and South Texas.
While TOSA serves as the federally designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for Central and South Texas, coordinating the medical and logistical aspects of organ donation and transplantation, Vida Legacy Foundation is the philanthropic heart of that mission, filling critical gaps in ongoing family support, community education, and outreach. Charitable gifts that fuel those programs and services are directed to Vida Legacy Foundation. The former TOSA Foundation is now Vida Legacy Foundation.
